Welcome to My Wild, Hilarious World of Love Stories
Welcome to “I Fell in Love with a Crack Baby,” the blog where we dive headfirst into our messy and crazy world of romance. I’m Zara – a mother, educator, and lover of all things complicated when it comes to matters of the heart. After years of hearing wild relationship stories from friends (and living a few of my own), I decided it was time to create a space where we can talk about love in all its unpredictable glory.
So, why the name? Why “I Fell in Love with a Crack Baby”?
Now, before anyone gets concerned, let’s break down the metaphor. It’s not ONLY about literally falling in love with someone born as a crackbaby BUT it’s also about those relationships that are messy, chaotic, and at times so toxic, you wonder what the hell you were thinking. You know the type – the ones that make your friends side-eye you, and years later, you look back and laugh because it’s so absurd that you almost can’t believe it happened. But it did.
I created this blog as a way to unpack those experiences in a way that’s humorous yet intellectual because, let’s face it, love can be a hot mess. But it’s also a space where we, as Black women, can talk openly about our unique experiences with romance—because the world of dating and relationships isn’t always straightforward for us. We’re navigating love with layers of culture, history, stereotypes, and expectations that are constantly shaping who we are and how we love. And that’s what makes our stories even more powerful.
Why Should You Join Me?
Because if you’ve ever found yourself in a situation where you loved someone who was clearly bad for you (we’ve all been there), or if you just enjoy hearing about the wild ride that is modern romance, this is the place for you. We’re going to laugh, cringe, and maybe even learn a few things about love and life along the way.
So, get comfortable. Pour yourself a glass of wine (or two), and let’s dive into wild wor love stories that’ll make you laugh, think, and definitely feel a little less alone in your romantic escapades.
Welcome to “I Fell in Love with a Crack Baby” – where love isn’t always neat, but it’s always worth talking about.
Cheers,
Zara Fierce
